STUDIO STORY

STUDIO 26 WAS BORN FROM A SHARED BELIEF THAT PRACTICE HAS THE POWER TO TRANSFORM US IN EVERY ASPECT OF LIFE.

Formerly Yoga Haven Richmond, the studio entered a new chapter in 2026 when three long-time teachers and practitioners came together to carry the space forward. Having each experienced the impact of a consistent practice in our own lives, we wanted to create a studio that honoured what already existed while making space for growth, evolution, and new possibilities.

The name Studio 26 is rooted in the studio's home at 26 Kew Road. It reflects our commitment to building a welcoming and inclusive space where movement, breath, strength, stillness, and community come together under one roof.

While the name has changed, the heart of the studio remains the same: a place to practice, connect, learn, and return to yourself. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or have been practising for years, Studio 26 is here to support the journey.

This is our next chapter. And we're excited to share it with you.

PHILOSOPHY & APPROACH

At Studio 26, we believe practice is about more than what happens on the mat. It is a lifelong process of learning, refining, and returning to what matters.

Our teaching is rooted in the traditions of yoga while embracing modern movement and a contemporary understanding of the body. We value depth over distraction, consistency over intensity, and quality over quantity. Whether you're attending a hot yoga class, a lineage based practice, a strength & mobility session, or a restorative experience, our aim is the same: to create meaningful experiences that support growth, awareness, and resilience.

We encourage students to approach practice with curiosity rather than expectation. Some days practice is strong and dynamic. Other days it is quiet and restorative. Both have value.

Our teachers bring diverse backgrounds, training, and perspectives, but share a common commitment to thoughtful teaching, ongoing study, and creating a welcoming environment for all. We believe that great teaching balances challenge with accessibility, tradition with evolution, and discipline with compassion.

The symbol [26] is more than our address. Added together, 2 + 6 = 8 — a number often associated with infinity, continuous growth, and evolution. The brackets represent the space within, where practice unfolds and transformation takes shape over time. Ultimately, the practice is not defined by what happens in the room, but by how it shapes the way we move through the world.

FOUNDERS INTRO

Studio 26 is led by three long-time practitioners and teachers: Arly Tuysuzian, Ella Kenneway, and Saad Al Abdeen.

While our paths into practice were different, we share a common belief in its ability to transform, support, and enrich everyday life. Together, we bring experience across yoga, movement, strength training, philosophy, breathwork, and community building, united by a commitment to creating a studio that is welcoming, authentic, and rooted in quality teaching.

In 2026, we came together with a shared vision: to create a space where practice could continue to deepen, evolve, and inspire. Studio [26] reflects our belief that movement, breath, and community should be accessible, sustainable, and capable of growing alongside the people who walk through its doors.

COMMUNITY VALUES

Practice is a lifelong journey. We encourage exploration, learning, and an openness to evolving perspectives and experiences.
